Amanda, you are brilliant, I needed this today. Woke at 4.am and felt adrift, knowing something definitely has to change on my substack…but not a clue what…so am going to listen to my intuition, thank you.
You've put into words how I feel quite often - Creative Chaos! That is it!! I need focus time and a dedicated editorial calender to tame it or I will be paralyzed at the keyboard.
Amanda, this piece was particularly exciting for me to see because I’ve actually been thinking about the mind-body connection for years and use my practice with Sound to assist me in connecting with my intuition. How does this happen?
Working with gongs and other instruments, alters your state of consciousness enough to profoundly access your intuition. While you are in a state of meditation, your conscious mind is involved with the sounds so your unconscious mind delivers information that you may have been struggling for or not known existed. All of that just with a simple sound meditation that can range from 20 minutes to an hour, depending on a person schedule.
Last fall I piloted a study group using sound to access higher consciousness and the intuition. What I have found from my study group on how to access this mind-body connection through sound is that it works! People received information that helped them to embody a character that they weren’t feeling connected to, download an entire screen play, overcome writers block, and also solve mathematical problems that they were investigating (My studio is next to Emory University).
I am so excited about this program for you and those that take part in it. Because of my work with intuition, unblocking and sound, I have full faith that this program will be exceptional.
As usual, you are right on target with the offerings that you give us. 💖💖
Bravo Amanda for always being a step ahead of us in knowing exactly what we need. This is an excellent essay that offers clarity and solutions. Thank you!
I think you helped consolidate a lot of different thoughts for me. because I used to be a journalist, and am now a therapist, there are deadlines, time constraints, and often editorial demands (made by editors and patients!). but when sitting down to write a post there is almost too much freedom. Do I offer a lesson, do I tell a story, do i try to sell a product, do i show a video, what is the balance. You helped me consider all this in a new way.
It’s so much! I’m hopeful I can help create a container for that wayfinding inside the publishing of someone’s newsletter. I know what happens when we find clarity between what we’re called to create and, say, what we also need to do to market that work. Thanks for letting me know how this piece helped you. ☀️
Oh this sounds so good, it was a hard relate all the way through that! Would all the zoom sessions be at the same time? I'm in the UK and that time would be tricky for me, though I appreciate you can't cater for every time zone! Just thought it was worth asking just in case. Thank you!
I definitely have plans to try different times and get feedback on days of the week, too. Would love to have you join us at a time that works better for you. ☀️
Thank you so much and apologies for the delay in responding - my son is back to school today so my head can focus on creative work again! Any time between 9am - 2.30pm weekday or 8.30-10.30pm works for me around solo parenting, which looks like 3.00-8.30am for you which is not very helpful, or 2.30-4.30pm, which hopefully might be more do-able! Time zones are so tricky to navigate aren't they! Appreciate your willingness to look at other times, thank you.
I contend with creative chaos all the time. Thank you for giving it a name! I get ideas, lots of them, then I drown in the process of express, of putting substance around vague concepts.

Have signed up for the January Pivot . 🙏🏻

I'm in!
Might’ve choked up just a little when I saw the email come in. Can’t wait. ☀️

"It takes years to notice the connective tissue between mind and body, let alone to trust what it’s saying."
I love the way that you shared this and also the different ways you express the same idea in this essay.
