Amanda, I love everything about your journey here on Substack and especially the emphasis on nurturing this space you've created as well as nurturing us who are learning from you. In 2025 I really want to engage more "inside" my Substack as you so aptly put it, understanding as best I can what I have to offer and what about what I'm offering is attracting, and keeping and growing my readers and subscribers. Thank you for this, and congratulations on your terrific achievement here. When hard work, persistence and authenticity pay off I love to see it.
“…we all learn through osmosis. We learn by finding someone who has depth of experience, diversity of thought, similar values and is further down the road from us.”
So true, and why I’m a paid subscriber!
Amanda, you provide a kind of depth and genuineness that I’ve not found from any other source. I appreciate you and look forward to all you share in 2025. TY
"focusing on momentum instead of perfection" was a little lightbulb moment for me, I really struggle with perfectionism and then overthinking and then freeze and fear... I'm working really hard on this and you've just summed it up perfectly in such a neat and easily digestible way, thank you! I really value your words and generous sharing and support...looking forward to commit to my writing this year!
That’s so helpful to hear. It really makes a difference for me too. I can work with momentum building. I know how to be faithful to my projects, my passions and my people! I imagine you do too. Here’s to building momentum together … 🫶
Thank you for your investment to a world of writers out here that may or may not know the things you will share. Thank you for your willingness to share with others your knowledge and wisdom in regards to writing. May God continue to grow your audience. I look forward to learning from you in 2025. God bless.
Your writing and offerings are so clear Amanda, I am glad I discovered you.
Recently I am finding myself caught up in numbers and growing . Then I remind myself about nurturing, being here is for pleasure and to be of service to my community.
I have wonderful readers, and despite the focus of @womenssurvivalguide (midlife women) I have a lot of midlife men who read it, too!
I have written down a list of "Goals for 2025 WSG" and it includes: Get to know audience better, more collaborations with other midlife bloggers, develop a more engaged audience, a larger audience, a larger paying audience, which can lead to advertising!
I'm excited to throw myself all in to The Editing Spectrum, Amanda!
I love that you focused on the need to nuture our projects. I am a nurturing soul. You help me feel that I can and will create my own Substack that will nuture both myself and others in community. Thanks, Amanda.
Great post Amanda. A lot of encouraging insights about your experience and process to elevate your credibility. I discovered and connected with you last month and am looking forward to reading more from you in 2025.
“I’ve learned that nurturing something authentic takes time. It takes patience. It takes small, deliberate steps forward — even when it feels like nothing is happening.”
Thank you for always authentically validating this approach. I’ve experienced so much jealousy and inadequacy watching others rise in success at a rate so fast it felt overwhelming to even imagine. I have always felt that as long as I stay authentic to myself and write in such a way that others can connect with their authentic selves, the right people will find me and my reader connections will be deeper and more meaningful. This is the only way I can mentally and emotionally sustain growth.
And now, I appreciate that you are championing this approach while also providing the technical tools and frameworks to back it up.

I know I'm committed to nurturing a community.
I just need to focus on engagement, so I have an audience to nurture.
The way I see it, it's a marathon, not a sprint.
I'm in it for the long haul.
Thanks for sharing, Amanda.
