I didn’t complete the survey. Reason…Answer #1. I don’t use social media (Notes wasn’t included as social media. Q: What is your primary reason for using social media. A. I left it unanswered.
When I went to submit, I was told that question required an answer.
Thanks for giving my survey some consideration, Dan! That question intentionally doesn’t include Notes because I’m trying to understand Substack readers’ relationship to social media outside the inner sphere here. ☀️
This is a common poll modeling issue. Have to make it flexible enough so it doesn't force people to lie, which I had to do on a couple questions just so I could complete and submit it.
Q: What inspires you to sign up for a paid subscription?
A: Would I pay this much for a tiny e-book with the same amount of information they put out each month?
Most stacks are overpriced. They'd make more by charging less and getting more subs, and the platform should allow for tiers, and encourage people to start at $2 or $3 a month if they're just blogging, like most.

I understood that about Notes. My difficulty was choosing the reason I use social media when I don’t use social media.
